Virtualization

Flexible Service Model

Our philosophy at icorp includes having a “Flexible Service Model” which we can adapt to your special requirements using measurable goals that help us satisfy the expectations stated in the SLA—all without sacrificing technical and economic competitiveness.

The ability to easily transform our generalized services into tailored, turnkey solutions has become one of the most important competitive benefits that icorp offers.

What is it?

Virtualization is the use of software to create a representation of a technological resource, whether it is a hardware platform, operating system, storage device or other networked resource.

There are different forms of virtualization—it is possible to virtualize server hardware and server software, and to virtualize user sessions, applications and even to create many virtual machines in a single desktop computer.

Industry Leader

Founded in 1975, Microsoft is the worldwide leader in software, services and solutions that help people and businesses realize their full potential. At Microsoft, motivation and inspiration are driven by how customers tend to use their software. They are therefore able to find creative solutions for business problems and develop innovative ideas. Most importantly, they stay connected to the issues that are most important to customers.

Advantages:

  • A familiar Windows-based platform.
  • The integration of Windows Server & System Center represent a cost-reduction.
  • Seamless physical & virtual management using hypervisors.
  • Tools that are compatible with each other.

The main benefits of a virtualization solution are:

  • Increased productivity of the IT department as well as every employee.
  • Centralized and simplified global management.
  • Up to 80% increase in server utilization.
  • Reduction in hardware requirements in ratios of 10:1 or better.
  • Reduction by half for operating and capital expenses, with annual savings of more than 1,500 USD per virtualized server.
  • High availability of applications, solid and profitable.
  • Improved responsiveness.
  • Improved business continuity without loss of service.
  • Lower energy consumption by physical servers helps the environment.

The main features of Microsoft Hyper-V are:

Microsoft virtualization solutions are fashioned from familiar Windows interfaces and work using familiar Windows-based technology. They are therefore compatible with a wide array of applications that may be appropriate for your business needs.

With the inclusion of Hyper-V in Windows Server & System Center, it may be most cost effective for you to frame your virtualization solution around Microsoft rather than with other competitive products because you will achieve a greater return on your investment in virtualization.

Microsoft's virtualization technologies enable you to optimally use your assets and to centrally manage all of your physical and virtual resources using multiple hypervisors, even at the application level.

Microsoft virtualization products work seamlessly with the tools your IT staff already uses and knows, so your company can leverage compatibility.

The main features of Microsoft Hyper-V are:

Hyper-V technology is now available in a desktop version of the Windows operating system.

Among the dynamic memory improvements is the ability to configure minimum memory and intelligent pagination, which is a memory management technique that improves restart reliability for those virtual machines that find themselves with less available memory during a restart than when they were first initiated.

The Hyper-V module for Windows PowerShell includes more than 160 cmdlets (lightweight scripts) that Hyper-V uses to manage virtual machines and virtual hard disks.

This feature supports the replication of virtual machines for data storage systems, clusters and data centers that are intentionally located in different physical locations in order to mitigate the effects of any unforeseen disaster.

The import process has been updated so that it is easier to find and fix configuration problems that would otherwise prevent a virtual machine from being imported. You can also import a virtual machine after copying the files manually, instead of having to export the virtual machine first.

You can now run a live migration in a non-clustered environment and run more than one live migration at the same time and use greater network bandwidths.

It is now possible to collect and track data about physical processors, memory, storage and the network that specific virtual machines use.

This version of Hyper-V provides greater storage and more computing resources than before. Plus, hardware error handling is improved.

A privileged administrator group is included in Hyper-V, which is implemented as a local security group.

This new feature lets you assign a network adapter that supports Single Root I/O Virtualization (SR-IOV) directly to a virtual machine.

The virtual hard disks associated with a virtual machine can be reconfigured to switch over to other physical disks even while the virtual machine is in operation.

Hyper-V now supports the use of SMB 3.0 shared file resources to provide storage for virtual machines.

This new feature allows for a direct connection to Fibre Channel storage by a guest operating system running in a virtual machine.

This new format has been added to satisfy evolving requirements and to take advantage of the benefits from new innovations in storage hardware.

Now, when a virtual machine snapshot is deleted, its storage space is recovered and becomes available for use even while the virtual machine is running.

Virtual machines make a virtual NUMA topology available to the guest operating system.

The architecture of the virtual switch has been updated to provide an open framework that allows third parties to add new funcionalities for it.

Turnkey projects

We work in conjunction with your IT staff to deliver turnkey solutions that meet your business objectives by enabling the efficient use of resources. We help you to integrate and set solutions in motion so that your IT staff can better concentrate their efforts on developing business strategy instead of spending their time with maintenance and operations.
